Someone once left an empty carton of milk in their locker. It got shoved further and further back into their locker and soon started to stink. Neither they nor anyone else wanted to be around that locker.

Eventually, they pitched that used milk carton. Thinking the smell would be gone...

But it wasn’t. It continued to smell for a very very long time.

The consequences of sex outside of marriage can be a lot like that. The emotions don’t just go away.

And it can affect a lot of other stuff.

Sex outside of marriage can lead to guilt, regret, disappointment, feeling used, worrying over being pregnant or getting an STD just to name a few

The hurt can be around for a long time. We carry those feelings into every relationship we get into. It’s called emotional baggage.

The more people you have sex with the more emotional baggage you bring into a relationship. It’s just that simple.

Facts:

  • Sexually active teen girls are more than 3 times more likely to experience depression than non-sexually active teen girls.
  • Sexually active teen boys are more than two times more likely to experience depression than non-sexually active teen boys.
  • One study has shown that teen girls who are sexually active were nearly 3 times more likely to attempt suicide than those were virgins.
  • Same study showed that teen boys who are sexually active were nearly 8 times more likely to attempt suicide than those teen boys who were virgins.
