Here’s the side of STD's you don’t hear about:
I remember lying in bed in such pain I couldn’t even get up.
I remember the anger at my girlfriend when she said there was no way I had gotten an STD from her when she was the only one I had been with.
I remember the disappointment in my mom’s eyes when the doctor said I had an STD. Yet with all of the pain, the sadness, the embarrassment and all the stuff I went through, the thing that really gets me now is that no one told me about this part of sex.
You see sex on t.v., movies, or talk about it with your friends but you just never hear that you could have a disease from it that will last the rest of your life!
There is a lot more to this sex thing than getting your heart broken.
Types of S.T.D.s
STD is short for “Sexually Transmitted Disease”
Stuff to think about:
- About 19 million new STDs occur each year.
- 80% of people infected with an STDs do not develop initial symptoms.
- STDs are the most common diseases in America next to the common cold and flu.
- STDs are contagious even though no symptoms may exist.
- Some STDs are incurable, life long infections which can even lead to death.
